German Airline Condor is adding a new destination to its stripy network – London Gatwick

It marks the first time that Condor has served London, with the airline planning three daily flights between Frankfurt Main and London Gatwick in the South of England, as the airline seeks to build out its own network and feed.
The new route to London Gatwick offers business travellers optimal access to the Greater London area as well as flexible options for day or short trips. At the same time, leisure travellers benefit from an attractive connection for weekend getaways to one of Europe’s most visited cities.
Beyond London, Condor is adding further points. Starting December 2025, Condor will once again operate weekly nonstop flights from Düsseldorf to Sulaymaniyah (ISU) in northern Iraq – an important service for passengers wishing to visit family and friends in the region. Another destination will follow in June 2026, when Tbilisi (TBS), the capital of Georgia, joins the network with daily flights from Frankfurt.
In Quotes
On the London Route Launch, Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor, said:
“With London Gatwick, we are adding another exciting metropolis to our city network, offering business travelers and city tourists even more options. The launch of this route is another clear signal of our growth in the European market.”
Jonathan Pollard, Chief Commercial Officer, London Gatwick, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Condor to London Gatwick, providing an important gateway to Frankfurt for passengers across London and the South East. This is a key link between London and one of Europe’s most influential financial hubs, and with Frankfurt’s excellent cultural offering, Condor’s three flights daily flights will provide excellent connectivity for business and leisure passengers.”
Building capacity
With Condor no longer being able to rely on Lufthansa for feeder traffic, the airline is pursuing the only action it can – adding its own capacity on high-income and core routes.
And like it or not, London is one heck of a market to pump, be it for Origin and Destination traffic or Connecting Traffic.
Given that Conder is planning three flights a day, it seems they’re gunning for both sets of traffic.
For passengers, it’s another choice when coming to London, which is always welcome. You’ll just have to navigate up from Gatwick Airport to the City Centre. Thankfully, there’s plenty of connectivity with Thameslink, Southern and Gatwick Express services, as well as coaches.
