For those heading away for winter, Qatar Airways is further boosting connectivity on select long-haul routes.

The airline is adding further capacity from Doha to Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, Shanghai, and Singapore this winter season to meet demand on these routes, This increase in flight frequency is part of the airline’s broader winter schedule enhancements, which have already introduced additional frequencies to more than 15 major destinations, including Cape Town, Dublin, London, Phuket, and Toronto.

The uplifts in detail:

  • Kuala Lumpur – From 17th December 2025, there will be a service uplift from 14 weekly flights to 17 weekly flights.
  • Lagos – Between 5 December 2025 and 28 March 2026, services will increase from 10 weekly flights to 14 weekly flights.
  • Shanghai-Pudong – Between 1st January to 28 March 2026, services will rise from 7 to 10 weekly flights to meet growing inbound and outbound demand from China.
  • Singapore – From 12 January 2026, Qatar Airways will deploy the Airbus A380 on select flights to Singapore, offering enhanced capacity.

Capacity is everything

Routes are wonderful, but a sign a route is doing well is when extra capacity and frequencies are being laid on to support growth. For Lagos and Shanghai, this will mean a temporary boost between seasonal events (Christmas and Lunar New Year), whilst Kuala Lumpur edges beyond twice a week to twice a bit a week.

And Singapore? People still want to go there, and sometimes you need a people mover. That’s why the A380 still operates.

As for the passengers, whilst you can be connected as the airline continues its Starlink rollout, you’ve got something more important – more choices and more options when flying.
