Thales at Aircraft Interiors Expo launched FlytEDGE Aura.

This is a new seat-end IFE screen for the cloud-native FlytEDGE platform, powered by the Onboard Data Centre.

Going through the specification list, Thales is the first to launch 4K HDR10+ Tandem OLED displays.

This cutting-edge innovation delivers unparalleled brightness, best-in-class contrast ratio and superior durability, all wrapped in a beautiful, timeless industrial design.

Supporting the Aura, it features an elegant display with thinner bezels for a wider viewing surface; and a sleek port module 80% smaller than previous systems to unclutter passenger space, twin Bluetooth 60 connectivity, fast charge at seat with up to 120W of fast-charging powe through dual USB-C ports, capable of charging the most demanding laptops 33% faster than anything else on the market.

On the unit, Wi-Fi 7 is also present, all enabled by a cutting-edge Qualcomm processor embedded in each display, 6X more powerful than before, built for today and the future, whilst reducing weight.

This is linked to a Compact and Intelligent Seat Box, providing an impressive 350W of power in a remarkably compact design. It is simply the most powerful and adaptable seat box per square inch available today. Paired with the most advanced power-management technology, each seat box supports a quad-seat configuration to dynamically distribute power.

It’s designed for tomorrow too, with the unit 30% lighter than the previous generation, with an optimised seatback architecture.

Importantly, it is designed to be modular. The three-part modular display (smarts, port, and screen modules) enables lightning-fast on-wing repairs and replacements, reducing maintenance time by up to 50% and lowering the total cost of ownership.

Finally, with modularity comes upgradability, as its modular design allows for straightforward upgrades to ensure that the fleet remains future-proof and always relevant.
