Walking through the Spring Dom (Frühlingsdom) Fair on a quiet Monday evening.

After looking at seats and concepts for a day, it’s nice to mentally shut off for a bit and disconnect. I could have headed straight for the U-Bahn and back to the Ibis Budget hotel – but I had not walked that much that day, so far. Therefore, I wanted to keep my legs warmed up (given the next few days, I would be hitting higher step counts than normal).

With the Hamburg Dom holding its Frühlingsdom  – The Spring Fair, I took my time and headed back to the Ibis Budget in St Pauli, cutting through the fairground on a Monday evening, with a little light rain.

So as you can guess, it wasn’t that busy. Perfect to slow down for a bit and get the step count up, whilst cooling down after being in a stuffy conference hall all day.

Here’s a sample of pictures.

Quiet times.

A little gaming, maybe?

Candied fruits, waiting for the picking.

There’s a corn joke here, but it escapes me.

Zug!

Crane games

For me, I took a “semi” direct walk, as my end-of-day exhaustion was catching up with me, but enough to take the sights and sounds in, without the masses of people that normally fill this place during a weekend day.

Moulin Rouge Pofferols

Those skyriders… yeah.

More Crane games

Aloha Cuddly Toys!

Spin, Spin Sugar

Wheely wheely good wheel.

Well, it’s not shaped like a pineapple – one thing at least.

Walking my way through, it was nice to experience the fair – even if it was devoid of people on a wet Monday, when a fair is probably the last thing on a person’s mind after a long day in the office.

For me, it was a chance to both cool down and warm up my legs for the days ahead, and just let the mind wander a little bit…

… before I arrived back at the hotel to collapse late into the evening.
