Thin and Long route? United to introduce Denver to Tokyo with a 787… with a stinger

23/05/2012 by Kevincm

787 route announcements are becoming more common with more planes entering service slowly. It seems that United are going to try and take advantage of the "thin and long" concept (thin demand, long flight) with their new 787 by opening a route from Denver International to Tokyo Narita International Airport. Now don't get too excited as the route is not due to commence until … [Read more...]

Earlier this month, Cimber Sterling fell for bankruptcy after funding was pulled by Mansvell Enterprises. Or to put it blunt: "The owners of the company have decided not to fund … [Read more...]

Some Diamond Club titbits…

21/05/2012 by Kevincm

Firstly, I got post today. And when it says "Diamond Club" on the envelope, I started to wonder what BA/BMI is up to. Well - it was this: Well for starters, it's a new Diamond Club card, with a few changes. Firstly, there's a BMI Logo (that's a bit late...), and secondly in the top left corner, the Star Alliance logo is gone, with a simple "Gold" left in its … [Read more...]

18/05/2012 by Kevincm

Going on from the earlier post about Lufthansa re-siting all their new Berlin service back to Berlin-Tegel, it seems that the new opening date for the brand new Berlin Brandenburg Airport will be now the 17th March 2013. Continuing from the original reason to delay the opening - it is to allow more time to complete fire safety systems. The new Berlin airport was due to … [Read more...]

a sign in a building

Bright lights, gambling, fountains, shows, taxi drivers who I swear use the fastest meters in the west - it can only be Las Vegas. British Airways returned to Vegas a couple of years ago, operating a route from London Heathrow. Well it seems BA want more of the leisure market, with services to commence from London Gatwick. The service is schedule to begin on the 29th … [Read more...]

Well it seems someone some space at Tegel, with Lufthansa to commence services from Tegel to 49 destinations - including Manchester and Birmingham from the 3rd June. a man walking past an airplane

No, not the Joss Whedon series, but British Airways has painted up another plane to deliver the Olympic Flame from Greece to the United Kingdom - and they've painted an Airbus A319 in a complete different scheme to the Olympic Doves that have been flying around. Images - British Airways via Facebook And I like the colours. It suits the plane nicely for the … [Read more...]
