Tiger Airways Australia continues to get its roar back

06/01/2012 by Kevincm

Tiger Airways Australia have been through the mill last year when at one point - the entire airline was grounded for 6 weeks by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) last year. At the moment Tiger is operating its limit of 32 sectors a day imposed by CASA, operating out of Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and The Gold Coast, using 7 out of it's 10 aircraft. It … [Read more...]

Prize Draw: Who wants a 5% Air Canada code?

05/01/2012 by Kevincm

Sitting in the depths of my in-box I have found an Air Canada 5% code (in lieu of a broken IFE system I had last year). Now it's going to expire shortly... so who wants it? It's got a short life - as travel must be completed by 29/01/2012. Terms: This offer is available on a new booking only. The 5% discount applies exclusively on Air Canada published fares and cannot be … [Read more...]

04/01/2012 by Kevincm

It's amazing. News of ICHG's changes have reached the land of LOLCats. And they're asking a question. WHY???? Sadly, I doubt kittehs understand the idea of "enhancing" things to kingdom come. They seem mostly concerned with cheezeburgers or other noms. Me? I have plans with my ICGH points. Put it like this. I've dumped 150,000 points in 2 days... … [Read more...]

04/01/2012 by Kevincm

Well here's a turn up for the books with Germanwings, with them allowing passengers to earn Miles and More STATUS miles. Miles and More of course, is the "Integrated" mileage programme of Lufthansa, Swiss, Brussels Airlines, Austrian and other Lufthansa companies. Germanwings runs its own little club called "Boomerang Club", but for those who are chasing every single … [Read more...]

Iberia pilots to walk out again…

04/01/2012 by Kevincm

If you've flying Iberia next week, I'd consider having some alternative plans in your pocket as SELPA - the Spanish Pilots Union are going out on strike. Again. The pilots who have been out on strike during the festive period (18th December and 29th December 2011) caused about a 1/3rd of all Iberia flights being cancelled. What's more annoying for travellers is the next … [Read more...]

Minor disclaimer - as well as an IT Person, I am a Photographer. The kit is therefore tailored to that need too. Computer Yes, I'm a Mac (and for me … [Read more...]

02/01/2012 by Kevincm

Well, this is the last of the week's extension of Airplane art, time to something a little bit special at Air Canada's morning hub - London Heathrow Airport T3. The plane in the foreground is an Air Canada Airbus A319 (yes, an AC A319 at LHR) on tow after completing it's leg from Newfoundland St Johns, with a pair of Air Canada Boeing 777-300ER's in the background - and … [Read more...]
