Air France prepares for big layoffs and fleet cuts

Air France-KLM Group seems to be suffering still, with further deeper cuts to be made, with a further 2,800 jobs on the line as the airline tries to cut costs. Air France will try and make these cuts via voluntary redundancy. Already, the airline has is to cut 5,100 staff from its global 69,000 workforce, but the group is missing the savings required. CityJet to pull London City – Edinburgh Route

It seems that CityJet is giving up a key route between London City Airport and Edinburgh, with the suspension of the route after the 26th October CityJet operates between the two cities 4 times a weekday, with fierce competition from British Airways who operate 8 return flights a weekday. Air France plans A380 service increase to Shanghai

Air France is toying with the edges of it deployments, by adding an extra A380 flight between Paris CDG and Shanghai Pudong. Air France trims its Paris to Hong Kong Service for Winter

Air France is reducing it's services to Hong Kong over the winter period - from 14th January 2014 to 29th March 2014. Air France is preparing to refurbish its Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 fleets in a bid to fight back from other carriers it seems.
