people boarding an airplane

Time for another snapshot, this time focusing on British Airways Short-haul product Boarding: Boarding sadly was conducted from Gate 10 at Heathrow. Whilst this doesn't mean a lot to a lot of people, this is the busing gates at Terminal 5. Which is... Not so good. Why? Priority boarding normally goes out of the window. Like it did today (although by the time a bus … [Read more...]

British Airways The Face

For those of us of a certain age, we will remember a certain advert that British Airways released in 1989. That advert was "The Face", done by Saatchi and Saatchi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAcBsSzjiUo Well, for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day (A comedy based fund raiser), apart from painting the nose radardomes of some planes red (red nose... get it... no... oh go to … [Read more...]

British Airways Embraer E-170SR

Whilst the main trip report is still in progress (which this week - will feature BA1 across the pond), there is a thing I need to talk about in regards to the Hawaii Tier Point run. And that's about the joy of complaining. Let me be blunt - those who followed me know of the downgrade I had by US Airways (as they managed to sell/upgrade someone in the time it took BA to notify … [Read more...]

29/01/2015 by Kevincm

Well, it's been a day or so since British Airways dropped the bombshell of its new earning and burning charts the changes. There's been a lot of discussion - but I'm going to highlight my thoughts for those of you who actually fly and earn minimal Avios via other ways. The link of the day you'll need to read is … [Read more...]

a seat in an airplane

We've seen how British Airways treated me aboard BA001 across the pond. How about on the return leg aboard BA002? Well the cabin is nice and dark when you board - in the mood for either a late night snack, or for some passengers, the joy of sleep. Cabin during boarding The cabin is pretty much in darkness with enough light for those who need it. Certainly, the … [Read more...]

British Airways New Shorthaul Cabin

On my way back from Dublin, I "lucked out" a re-configured Airbus A320 with the new British Airways short-haul product. How does it stack up? Well, lets have a look in the cabin. My first thought was "Neue Europa Kabine". For those who aren't sure what that is, that's Lufthansa's short to medium haul cabin as I reviewed earlier this year/end of last year. The seats … [Read more...]

British Airways Airbus A318 at London City Airport

It's Sunday again, so it must be time for some more airplane art. This week, sitting outside Gate 24 at London City Airport is a British Airways Airbus A318 preparing for its hop over to Shannon and onto New York JFK International. British Airways operate a fleet of two Airbus A318 aircraft, operating them only on the business class only shuttle between London City … [Read more...]

On the way back from New York last night, I found that my ticket had been booked into economy class on the final segment on my I7SALE fare. Whilst it's only a 1 hour 20 … [Read more...]
