And that new carrier... is Delta. A Delta 767-300ER landing at Dublin Airport - Image, Economy Class and Beyond Delta will operate the route daily from 7th April 2015, based … [Read more...]

An Uber bit of trouble in London (and Europe) today

11/06/2014 by Kevincm

London Taxi drivers will be staging a protest today against Uber. It seems that they are unhappy with what they see as the lack of regulation of Uber, and the use the Uber App which they believe is akin to a taxi meter - which in London is limited to "Black Cabs" only. The protest will commence from 14:00 today (11th June) with up to 12,000 drivers expected to take part. The … [Read more...]

The reason we won’t see a decision regarding runways, airport or anything in the UK…

17/07/2013 by Kevincm

The following is my comment and thoughts alone... and yes, I'm flying off the handle on this one. The reason why can be boiled down to two terms. POLITICAL INDECISION and POLITICAL SURVIVAL No politician likes to deal with Heathrow and would rather "put off" or "put the subject under review", rather than grasping the nettle and dealing with it. One place you'd never expect to see the orange tailfins of EasyJet is London Heathrow airport. Well, if EasyJet wins some slots at Heathrow, this could well happen. EasyJet is competing with for some of the remedy slots that International Airlines Group has had to give up when they purchased BMI. These remedy slots which are for other airlines to fight over have some … [Read more...]

LON-NYC… but which way?

12/06/2012 by Kevincm

London to New York as we all know is one heck of a trafficked route with nearly every man and his dog trying to fly back and forth there profitably. Image - Great Circle Mapper Looking to the map and actual airports, here's a map of the routes - for once, I'm excluding anything that requires a connection The list: London Heathrow - New York John F. Kennedy … [Read more...]

02/11/2011 by Kevincm

If you're heading into London during the next two months (the great Christmas rush), and are nowhere near a Starbucks (where they'll offer you Internet Access for free - no Starbucks card required) or a Weatherspoons (registration required, and to be honest crap WiFi in my local Weatherspoons) and need WiFi for some reason, then good news - Nokia of all people are offering free … [Read more...]
