Thai Airways waves goodbye to the USA and Rome

It seems the recasting of Thai Airways route network is still in progress, with two routes up for the axe. First up is the route between Bangkok and Rome, which will be axed from the 25th October. Etihad adds more seats between Abu Dhabi and Rome

It seems the Etihad-Altalia partnership is bearing more fruit, with Etihad adding more seats between Abu Dhabi and Rome with the the daily service operated by Etihad being upgraded to a Boeing 777-300ER (two class) from an Airbus A330-200. Even as we slip toward Christmas, airlines are firming up their Summer 2015 planes - and no, it's not that far away no matter how far we want it to be. Emirates adds another service to Rome, goes after Etihad

There's going to be one heck of a capacity boost to Rome, with Emirates adding a third daily service between Rome-FCO and Dubai this winter. Cathay Pacific pulls A340s out of Europe

It seems as Cathay Pacific moves their fleet around, aircraft are being switched out in favour of different planes. This is visible in Cathay Pacific's plans to switch out Airbus A340-300s for Boeing 777-300ERs on their from Amsterdam, Paris and Rome. In what seems to be an odd story of the day, a Norwegian tourist was caught sleeping on an active luggage belt at Rome Fiumicino airport.
