Statement on Changes and Corrections to Articles as requested by Public Relations Officials and Agencies
If you are 99% of my readers, the following will not apply. Feel free to use the comments sections to point out my mistakes.
This section is dedicated to Public Relations Representatives and Agencies only.
Why has this been implemented?
These restrictions have been put in place as I do get more than the odd email from PR’s/Agencies about them wanting links added to articles as well as minor corrections. Whilst I am normally happy to do this – it does take away from what the writer and editor should be doing – writing content – rather than going back and doing multiple edits on older content that have1) no SEO value to this blog and 2) minimal exposure value.
This page has been written due to the PRs who represent two airlines emailing expecting changes free of charge outside any reasonable window and who cannot respond in a reasonable time.
For those PRs and Agencies who provide content in a timely manner
Economy Class and Beyond will work with you as always to ensure the content given is presented in a timely fashion based on the information given and the facts that are out there.
Please feel free to reach out via the usual channels for releases and corrections where needed.
Changes will be entertained for up to 4 months for corrections and relevant additions (if they do not force a change of the direction of the article). Beyond that, only factual changes will be entertained at the editor’s discretion only. Where changes have been requested, a note will be placed at the end of the article to highlight the correction,
Please email the press email address for changes, where each will be entertained and managed on a case-by-case basis.
Changes to Content where it is sourced by the author/editor
In the case of content change is requested by a PR or Agency representing an airline or organisation, where the content has been supplied by the editor or author of Economy Class and Beyond (such as the addition of a link) these will be entertained on a case-by-case basis, based on the following:
- Subject to a change window of 4 months
- A single change will be entertained. Additional alterations will not be entertained unless a commercially valid reason is given, along with payment subject to a schedule of fees
- Articles that change the scope of the article from a Picture to an advert will be subject to a charge.
- Additional changes to other articles will only be entertained on a case-by-case basis as listed above.
Content Changes for any article over four months old
No changes will be entertained unless a commercially valid reason is given.
Changes will be subject to a schedule of fees, based on the time required to edit, quality checks and validation. In addition, the article will be updated to reflect this change.
A schedule of fees is available from the press contact email address.
