Just a reminder post for those of you coming to the UK for the festive period via Heathrow or Gatwick (or for those of you escaping… not much of a difference).
So onto the reminder for…
Heathrow Express

- 24th December – No services after 20:25
- 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th December – No services to and from London. Heathrow Central to Terminal 4/5 will operate.
- 29th, 3oth, 31st December and 1 January 2016 – Heathrow Express running every 30 minutes all day
- 2nd January – 30 minute service will operate, with an early last service
Heathrow Connect

- 24 December 2015 – No services after 20:51
- 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th December – No services to and from London. Heathrow Central to Terminal 4/5 will operate.
- 29th, 3oth, 31st December and 1 January 2016 – A modified service will operate with, no stopping at Hanwell or West Ealing
- 2nd January 2016 modified service will operate with, no stopping at Hanwell or West Ealing. Note that services will finish earlier than normal.
HEATHROW EXPRESS/CONNECT ALTERNATIVES
It will be possible to get to/from Heathrow, but it will be considerably tougher than normal:
- 25th December (Friday)
- National Express are operating a half-hourly service to Victoria Coach Station. Walk-up fares start £15.
- Uber could be an option. Uber’s rates are at https://www.uber.com/cities/london
- London Taxis will be charging Tariff 3 rates – be aware. Also an extra charge of £4 will be levied on all journeys
- 26th December (Saturday)
- The Piccadilly Line is in operation, and London Underground plan to operate a Sunday Service
- National Express will operate its normal service
- Uber could be an option. Uber’s rates are at https://www.uber.com/cities/london
- London Taxis will be charging Tariff 3 rates – be aware. Also an extra charge of £4 will be levied on all journeys
- 27th December (Sunday)
- The Piccadilly Line is in operation, and London Underground plan to operate a Sunday Service with services starting an hour later than normal.
- National Express will operate its normal service
- Uber could be an option. Uber’s rates are at https://www.uber.com/cities/london.
- London Taxis will be back to normal pricing.
- 28th December (Bank Holiday Monday)
- The Piccadilly Line is in operation, and London Underground plan to operate a Saturday Service
- National Express will operate its normal service
- Uber could be an option. Uber’s rates are at https://www.uber.com/cities/london
- London Taxis will be back to normal pricing.
Gatwick Express – http://www.gatwickexpress.com/en/your-journey/timetable/christmas-and-new-year-services/

- Gatwick Express will be suspended from 22:00 Thursday 24 December 2015 until 04:00 Monday 4 January 2016. No services will run.
- Southern will operate two services an hour to/from Victoria and Gatwick via Horsham, taking 90 minutes
- Alternatively, Southern will operate two trains an hour from Victoria to East Grinstead, and then a replacement bus service between East Grinstead and Gatwick Airport. This will be the only option on the 26th December.
GATWICK ALTERNATIVES
25th December- 3rd January 0216
- National Express, EasyBus and Terravision are all operating replacement services between Gatwick and London.
- Southern Railway will run replacement services as above, but allow extra time for your journey.
