FlyBe expecting rough UK clouds ahead

12/01/2012 by Kevincm

Flybe seem to be flying into rough weather in the UK, with domestic traffic declining by 8% in Q3 this year. For the airline, UK Domestic traffic makes up 70% of its business – therefore this is a worry to the company.

Flybe for those who don’t know is a UK Airline which works on the Low Cost Carrier principles – which operates a mixed Q400 Dash-8 and Embraer 175/195 fleet, based out of Exeter Airport (with bases across the United Kingdom and – with the purchase Fincomm Airlines with Finnair to form Flybe Nordic – Finland).

However, FlyBe seems to be concertinaing on keeping the network going and growing, and for now – sacrificing higher yeild in a description that points to wanting to maintain the current network, hope the market share increases of passengers and hoping passengers return sooner rather than later.

Lets hope the strategy works for them…
