If you’re travelling with LNER (which connects London King’s Cross to Scotland via the East Coast Main Line), there’s good news, as the train company has unveiled its new summer menus for those travelling with them.
New Food and Drink menus have been released for both First and Standard class passengers, with the train company looking to offer a selection of locally sourced produce provided by suppliers along the LNER route.
Passengers travelling on Signature services can treat themselves to delicious chicken supreme, served with golden scalloped potatoes and Tenderstem broccoli in a white wine sauce.
Other items include a warm, cheesy Mumbai chicken toastie and a rich, smoky bean pasta, which is available on selected services. Meanwhile, lighter lunch or evening options available on all First Class journeys include tuna, butter bean and egg salad, and a falafel and sweetcorn hummus wrap.
For those who have a sweet tooth, the dessert section has been updated too, with a special strawberry and lime pot available across all services, and a tangy passionfruit and lemon tart onboard services with the Signature menu.
Meanwhile, those on the early journeys will find that breakfast and brunch options now feature honey and red cherry overnight oats, while favourites, the Full LNER and Full Veggie LNER breakfasts, remain on the Signature menu.
This is complimentary for those travelling in First Class.
Meanwhile, for those down the back in Standard Class, passengers can order refreshments direct to their seat via a QR code, using the ‘Let’s Eat At Your Seat’ service. The onboard Café Bar offers a variety of options, from a new addition of a cheeseburger, or the fully vegan coronation chickpea and onion bhaji sandwich, along with a variety of sweet treats.

Combination offers are available too, including the Bakery Deal and the classic Meal Deal.
For the younger traveller, a brand-new kids’ Eleanor activity book is also available to keep them entertained with games, stickers, and activities for families to enjoy together.

The new First Class menus are now available on the train with new choices across the Dish, chef-prepared Signature, and All Day options.
For those who want, the full details of LNER’s new offerings, the new First Class and Café Bar menus have been published. Passengers travelling in First will be advised of the menu served on their selected service when booking a ticket on the LNER App or website.
As we seek to drive passengers to sustainable travel methods, having something to do while away the time is important – especially on the longer routes that LNER operate.
And sometimes it’s nice to have good food options – and not having to live out of a dry meal deal sandwich you got at the station (or the delicious, yet overpriced hot pastie).
