Nothing says welcome home like delays and packed commuter trains

01/03/2012 by Kevincm

Well arriving back in London was a mistake at peak time.

Firstly it seems the Great Western Mainline was on one today, with a 30 minute delay thanks to delayed freight trains and incorrectly suspected signals… and trouble getting into Paddington itself.

The taxi driver wasn’t as much as a rip off agent as some of the back cab drivers are, and got me to Marleybone in a reasonable amount of time – time enough to grab the first “cheap” evening train – to which I’m greeted with a packed service full of commuters.

The glamour of travel really doesn’t change any further than a big business class seat to this within 3 hours or so….

More later on…
