Swissport baggage handlers strike to go ahead at Stansted

01/06/2012 by Kevincm

Just in time for the holiday weekend, Baggage handlers at Stansted Airport in Essex working for Swissport are to engage in industrial action.

The Walk out will be between 05:30 on Saturday 2nd June 2012 to  05:29 Wednesday  6th June.

The dispute is over working patterns and rosters.

Richard Prince, of Swissport Stansted, said passengers should not be disrupted.

“Anyone planning to fly through Stansted this weekend can do so with confidence,” he said.

“Our check-in staff will be waiting to welcome them on this special weekend.”

Those checking baggage and are expecting back in in a timely fashion may wish to add extra time onto their journeys – namely passengers of Ryanair, Thomas Cook, Thomson, Atlasjet and BelleAir.

It wouldn’t be a bank holiday if there was not at least one strike going on…
