oneworld is to improve some of its elite benefits for oneworld Emerald members – and for once these enhancements are actual enhancements to the programme
Effective Midnight 1st February 2013, the new benefits take effect:
- Extra Bag above the limits of your ticket – either an either one additional item where the piece concept applies, or an extra 20 kg (44 lbs) where the weight concept applies on oneworld airline routes
- Fast track lanes through security when flying from what oneworld calls “select key airports worldwide” when flying oneworld airlines.
All this ahead of Malaysia Airlines formally becoming a full member of the oneworld alliance.
And for me.. that’s an important change as the baggage policies of oneworld were a mess in comparison to Star Alliance – where you got the baggage allowance.
Wow. An actual enhancement to the product. I’m impressed.
Now they just need to add priority luggage and they’ll be set!
