1st April news: Virgin to launch Glass bottomed plane

01/04/2013 by Kevincm

Well it wouldn’t be the 1st April without some silliness, and today is no different. Apart from Google Treasure Maps, today Virgin Atlantic launches a Glass Bottom Plane.

Virgin say:

Today we’ve announced that our world-class engineering crew have been secretly working on the design and production of the world’s first-ever glass-bottomed plane, created to ensure passengers can enjoy both an unparalleled flying experience, as well as a selection of stunning landscapes from the comfort of their seats.

The new aircraft will offer every passenger the chance of a bird’s eye view with an extra special opportunity to look down on the beautiful scenery of Great Britain as they fly.

Lets have a look at this plane….

In the initial phase, Virgin will deploying this glass bottom plane on the new Little Red routes – the first of which commenced yesterday on 31st March.

Little Red is run using Airbus A320’s – leased from Aer Lingus.

Or this could be a April 1st News Item. I’ll let you work it out 😉
