Lufthansa to operate a 747-8i on Frankfurt to Chicago run…

25/09/2013 by Kevincm

This is one just for Lucky, but also for those who like Lufthansa, with the announcement that German airline will be swapping a plane on its Frankfurt – Chicago Route.

The plane swap will be from the currently operated Boeing 747-400 to the new Boeing 747-8I.

The timetable remains the same for this route, with the changed flight below:

LH430 DEPART FRA 10:35 ARRIVE ORD 12:55
LH431 DEPART ORD 16:10 ARRIVE FRA 07:30+1

Operates Daily
Switch commences: 27th October 2013
Booked Equipment Boeing 747-8I

In terms of seating, the 747-8I has more seats in compared to its older cousin, with:

8 First Suites
78 Business Seats
262 Economy Seats

or

8 First Seats
80 Business Seats
298 Economy seats

(Data: Seatguru)

This is depending on the configuration (there are two configurations out there)

Flights with Boeing 747-8I’s commence from 27th October 2013, and booking for this route is open.

Of course, if you fly Lufthansa First and are departing from Frankfurt, you’ll be wanting to visit the First Class Terminal – and the terminal offers a unique amenity – Lufthansa Rubber Ducks.

And you can win one with GhettoIFE! Visit http://economyclassandbeyond.boardingarea.com/2013/09/23/ghettoife-giveaway-lufthansa-rubber-duck/ … and if there is over 100 comments, I’ll add another prize (and no, it’s NOT a “Remove Before Flight” Tag… its something more useful!)
