Emirates offer E-Gate Access… with their *BLUE* Tier

05/10/2013 by Kevincm

For those of you who  fly to and forth to Dubai, there is a very good reason to sign up for Emirates Skywards, as Skyward BLUE (the base level)  now offer something rather useful: EGate access for both entrance and exit from the United Arab Emirates

This applies to all levels of Emirates Skywards Membership:

As shown on http://www.emirates.com/english/skywards/about/membership-tiers/membership-benefits.aspx

This could cut your immigration time down quite nicely, and speed you on your way.

EGate is available to multiple nationalities, with the main conditions:

Members over 18 years old, residing in the United Arab Emirates, or nationals of the Gulf Cooperation Council or of the UAE’s visa waiver countries. Eligible visa waiver countries are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the USA and the Vatican.

The only downside is to get the Emirate Blue card (which has the function inside it), you will need to complete qualifying Emirates flights.

Still, if you’re going in and out of the UAE with Emirates, this is one hell of a useful benefit and timesaver.

Was the “Slyward” in Bold a reference on-purpose? 😉

what would an example of a qualifying EK flight be? Would I be able to use this card as well on non-EK flights to Dubai?
