Air India is preparing to tweak its operations Mumbai to London Heathrow operation, with an aircraft swap of a Boeing 777-300ER to a Boeing 787-8.
The timings on the route remain the same operating as follows:
AI131 DEPART BOM 06:30 ARRIVE LHR 11:30 AI130 DEPART LHR 13:15 ARRIVE BOM 03:05+1 Commences with new equipment from 30th March 2014 Operates Daily Booked Equipment: Boeing 787-8
This represents one heck of a capacity downshift on the route, with the 777-300ER holding 4 First Class seats, 35 Business Class seats and 303 Economy seats.
The 787-8 that will replace it will hold 18 Business Class Seats and 238 Economy seats.
This represents the loss of First Class (4 seats), some Business Class Capacity (17 Seats) and and 65 Economy seats – a net loss of 81 seats a flight or 567 seats a week on the route.
Timetables and equipment are subject to change, but this is one heck of a capacity drop…
