According to Flight, over 60,000 employees from American and US Airways (around 60% of the workforce) went for the new tail,with 51.9% voting for it.
It’s still growing on me to be honest. Perhaps I’m too used to seeing the old Eagle on tails everywhere still.

For the combined airline, there’s a lot of work ahead as they have to repaint both all the old AA planes, as well as the US Airways planes (along with regional aircraft). This heads up to 1,119 aircraft and beyond.
The paint shops are going to be busy for a while yet…
