Heathrow Rewards is a semi-useful programme for those who go in and out of London Heathrow – and choose to stock up as they go – be it Duty Free, chemist, newspaper stand, restaurants, clothing stores, watches, electronics… the list goes on (the only things you don’t earn points on are tobacco purchases as far as I can see… )
Once you hit 250 points you can start redeeming them for useful things – such as:
- British Airways Avios (250 points = 250 Avios)
- Lufthansa Miles and More Miles (250 points = 250 Miles)
- Heathrow Express Discount (500 points = £5 Voucher)
- World Duty Free Discount (500 points = £5 Voucher)
- Heathrow Parking Discount (500 points = £5 Voucher)
- Virgin Atlantic (250 points = 250 Miles)
Etihad Guest is joining in the party for Heathrow Rewards now offering the usual 250 points = 250 Etihad Guest Miles. However up until 30th June 2014, this is doubled to 500 Etihad Guest Miles.
Whilst not earth shattering, if you do major spending at Heathrow – it could be worth your while stacking up on Heathow Reward points as you shop.
For example I’ve noticed I’ve got 260ish points in my account without even trying too hard over 9 months (must covert them when I have a few minutes…).
Points are valid for three years after your last transaction, with another transaction buying another three years. Heck, they’ve even got a Loyalty bonus and Premium Tier
You can sign up at https://rewards.heathrow.com/web/lhr/about-heathrow-rewards where if you do so, there’s a 100 points to get you started…

is there a way to claim on past transactions as well? I opened my account a couple of days after the shopping was done 😉

I believe you can retro claim – spend in the receipts (10 a year though! See https://rewards.heathrow.com/web/lhr/terms-and-conditions – section 3.2.
A good one for high value products…
