Well, it’s not the trains, it’s now French Air Traffic Control deciding they want to go out on strike too.

Originally, two unions were meant to go out on strike. This has been reduced to one – however, this is forcing a reduction of 20% of possible flights.
Action will centre on Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse, Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly.
The strike is due to run from 24th June 2014 to the 29th June 2014 – a total of 5 days.
- EasyJet is to drop around 25% of it schedule.
- Ryanair is to cut 26 flights from France, and also may suffer from cancellations for flights that overfly France
- Air France is cutting 20% of its flights, all long-haul flights to operate, whilst aiming to operate the majority of short-haul flights
- British Airways is expecting disruption for flights to France, and that overfly France
- Lufthansa is expecting issues between Germany to France, Spain and Portugal
As usual when strikes hit, its best to check with your airline to see if your flight is operating, and allow extra time for your journey.
On the plus side, train travel is slowly returning to normal in France with only the RER Line B suffering major issues, and the majority of services returning to normal.
