Emirates will be uprating their recently introduced Dubai to Brussels route (well, it started on the 5th September, so it’s four days old officially), switch the equipment used from the current Boeing 777-200LR (the long-range 777) to the more capacity driven Boeing 777-300ER (the extended range, but with higher capacity).

The change of equipment will take place from 1st February 2015, with the current timetable being maintained:
EK183 DEPART DXB 07:50 ARRIVE BRU 13:15 EK184 DEPART BRU 14:45 ARRIVE DXB 23:25 Flights operate daily Operates until 31st January 2015 with a Boeing 777-200LR Operates from 1st February 2015 with a Boeing 777-300ER Data: Airline Route
Flights are showing in the Emirates booking engine:
With the introduction of a Boeing 777-300ER, this is a major capacity boost down the back of the plane. Emirates operate 216 seats in Economy in a 777-200LR, whilst the 777-300ERs hold between 304 to 310 seats – about 88 to 94 extra seats depending on the 777-300ER configuration used.
First Class remains at 8 seats, Business Class at 42 seats.
Capacity boosts are always welcome, and it seems Emirates has confidence in the forward bookings on the route that can justify an aircraft swap on this service to the the Belgium capital.
Hopefully, this will be a good sign for the future of this route.
