Air China is being busy with its Boeing 777-300ER fleet, as it prepares to launch a Beijing to Newark NJ service in the winter timetable.
Air China Boeing 777-300ER in Star Alliance 15th Anniversary paintwork – Image, Economy Class and Beyond.
The new route commences on the 26th October, with a four times a week service commencing. It will operate as below:
CA819 DEPART PEK 09:35 ARRIVE EWR 1005 CA820 DEPART EWR 12:25 ARRIVE PEK 1455+1 Commences 26th October 2015 Booked Equipment Boeing 777-300ER All services operate Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Data: Airlineroute
For those connecting in Newark, there’s plenty of time to get to the plane from an United code-share flight, whilst there is plenty of connectivity in Beijing too for those with onward connections.
Air China will contest the route with fellow Star Alliance member United Airlines. Between New York-JFK and Beijing, Air China also operates a direct service with no competition.
It’s interesting to see the route development – this route does feel like that it will be built for connecting traffic. For those who need to hit Manhattan and the nearby area – they’ll be choosing JFK I suspect.

Fixed. That’s why happens when editing at 6am in the morning with minimal sleep at Doha Airport…

This is great — especially for those passengers who live in New Jersey, Staten Island, and Westchester county! I always wondered why Asian star alliance carriers like Asiana, ANA, EVA, and Air China didn’t fly to EWR, given the easy connections to their partner UA.

I still think there is a prestige to flying into JFK for some airlines, as opposed to Newark. That and grounds connections aren’t what I call “easy”

First, I am not sure what you mean “prestige” to fly into JFK. What kind of prestige it is? Second, most people in Manhanttan would definitely prefer Newark than JFK since it is much closer and less traffic.. Get fact right please
