It’s time for a giveaway. Because I love you all.
Well…. love is strong term, but it works for this discussion.
Yesterday when I was flying American Airlines, I managed to obtain one of the retro amenity kits that have been going around.
Well, I was disembarking the plane – and there was a spare amenity kit to hand which was sealed. And rather than leave that for the cleaners, I “obtained” a spare.
This kit is sealed… AND CAN BE YOURS!
So to win this wonderful amenity kit for your collection, I’m going to ask:
What is the best amenity kit you’ve obtained?
Simple really. Fill in the box below for a chance to win!
Now, quick rules for this giveaway:
- Entry is via this post only.
- One entry per person. I can tell if you’re cheating. Yes. It is possible. Ever heard of something called an IP Address?
- Closes Midday, Sunday 18th October
- A rarity from me – this is for US Residents only. (Don’t worry EU/RoTW – I’ve got something special for you lined up at home for next weeks giveaway).
- Prize will be drawn using the wonderful Random.org
- My decision is final.
- Whiners will get Tesco Value Chocolate. Yes. This is a real threat.
- The Prize is not sponsored by American Airlines in any form. There was a spare kit – I’m passing on the love.
- The prize will sent on my behalf by the wonderful Le Chic Geek. A big thanks for her for doing this important task!
Well – you know what to do – fill those boxes in below to win!
Good luck!

So the best one i have ever received would have to be the Cathay First class. Not because it had great contents (in fact they were fairly average) but the case itself was perfect for a compact pencil case (something that i use still to this day for that purpose).

Woohoo! Enjoy your time state side!

Sorry, just realized I did not answer the question! My favorite amenity kit is the black tumi from JAL. Really well made. I’ve been using it for over a year and it’s held up really well!

Best amenity kit I’ve obtained isn’t really that good, but the Big United Global First. Haven’t done any real first class travel, and the business class travel has been on airlines not known for giving the best kits.

I’ve only gotten the regular delta tumult kit. Nothing special.

I was fortunate enough to garner 4 Cathay Pacific Business amenity kits in 2006 during a RTW Explorer reward ticket. All 4 of the simple zippered bags are still in use today and look great. In truth the products are but a distant memory but I recall that I liked them.

Never received one…worth a shot.

JAL First is rather impressive. We RT on them in July and loved that they have different bags in each direction. I preferred the NRT-ORD hanging bag. Loved the Loewe products too especially the unisex scent.

I like all my Delta Tumi amenities kits.

Being new to the miles and points arena, I am still gathering points and have never, ever received an amenities kit. What a great way this would be to start my kit collection.

my favorite is Etihads 1st class leather box/pouch. Unique!

I haven’t had the pleasure of receiving an amenity kit yet, but this one has travelled across the pond and would come with a great story behind it.

That gray flannel packaging would house a tablet in style!

The best kit I ever got was a Qantas business class kit years ago, not because it was a particularly awesome kit – it was pretty basic – but because it was my favorite vacation ever! I actually got three of them, one on the JFK-LAX outbound leg and two more on the flights between LAX and SYD. I used them for years organizing gym crap, electronics cables, and general travel organizers.

Okay, so where are the boxes to be filled in???

My best amenity kit? An old TWA amenity kit (double globe). I bought it recently at the TWA museum and it came with all the contents inside and unopened (albeit some liquids have gone to the angels like a good scotch). So maybe it’s just my most prized one because I definitely don’t have any use for it except as memorabilia.

The best amenity kit I obtained had a blanket eye mask and ear plugs and a bag to tote it in, was much appreciated because the airport was freezing!!
