Time for another Snapshot, this time at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare.
Check-in: Check-in was handled efficiently, and I was allocated a high room in the main block. For those unfamiliar with this property, there is the main building and the “Executive Wing”. I prefer the main block simply because after catching up with friends at 2am… a hike to the Executive wing isn’t welcome.
There was some issues as they managed to delete my friend’s name from the reservation when she attempted to check in though – that displeasure was expressed when I caught up with her (commonly known as “oops” and a slightly grovelling apology).
The room: As the room is in the main block, and is a double – you get a balcony. Otherwise, this is the classic Hyatt Regency O’Hare room you’ve seen lots of times before at Economy Class and Beyond.
And yes – I still want a Hyatt Regency bed. But that’s besides the point.
Work desk (MacBook Pro not included).
The bathroom was clean, and full of the usual Hyatt amenities you expect in a Hyatt room:
Sink
Beauty Mirror, Soap, Body lotion and Hair-dryer.
Washing bar, shampoo and conditioner.
Things that are new include the Coffee shop on the ground floor – the coffee shop having been refurbished and open 24/7 now. Good for late night munchies…
Checkout: Checkout was handled swiftly on the Sunday, although there were some minor billing issues, with the hotel refunding and recharging my friends credit card… with differing amounts. Turned out the hotel had overcharged by a full 1 cent….
