Reports have come of Istanbul Ataturk Airport has been attacked, with the airport being closed.
According to Reuters, three suicide bombers opened fire before blowing themselves up at the entrance to the main international airport in Istanbul on Tuesday, killing 28 people and wounding dozens more.

The airport has posted the following tweet:
Istanbul Ataturk Airport is closed to flights until June 29th, 20:00 o’clock as per the concerned legal NOTAM (Notice To Air Man).

Currently, airlines are either in the process of suspending operations to Istanbul Airport or turning back their flights.
As you can see in the tweet above, flights to the airport care closed until 29th June 20:00 local time.
If you have a flight that goes to, or via Istanbul Ataturk Airport – it may be an idea to check with your airline for re-routing because nothing will be taking off or landing there for a while.
If you have a Turkish Airlines flight, let’s make no bones about this – you will be affected.
This is going to have a major impact – Istanbul Ataturk is a key interchange the area – being the third busiest airport in the European area.
The UK Foreign and Commonwealth office has updated its travel advisory, as has US Embassy in Istanbul.
