It seems there’s more trouble and strife on the railways, this time affecting Eurostar.

Workers from two different unions will walk out on different dates. The list is below:
- RMT members will walk out from 12 to 15 and 27 to 29 August
- TSSA members will strike on 14 and 15 and 28 and 29.
Eurostar has made contingency plans, with some changes to the timetables for the first round of strikes:
- Friday – Services 9114 and 9133 have been cancelled. You will be contacted if you’re on these trains for alternatives
- Saturday – A Normal service is planned
- Sunday and Monday – Eurostar are developing plans for these days to make sure all its customers get from A to B.
It’s important to keep abreast of the situation at http://www.eurostar.com/uk-en/travel-info/service-information/eurostar-service-update.
Whilst some services are affected, it seems Eurostar is holding its operations together – for now.
The RMT is involved in a few industrial actions at the moment – most notably with Southern Rail (Govia Thameslink Railway) and Virgin Trains East Coast (where a vote for strike action has taken place).
As a passenger who’s held to ransom by the unions – plan appropriately.
If you’ve never taken Eurostar between Paris and London – and instead have flown the route… I suggest you try it – mainly as it’s the fastest way between the centres of London and Paris/Brussels. See here for a trip report.
