Thai Airways have taken delivery of their newest plane type to their fleet – an Airbus A350-900.

This is the first of twelve Airbus A350s that will join the fleet (split between four firm orders and eight aircraft leases).
The airline continue to name their aircraft – this one called “Wichian Buri” (a district in southern part of Phetchabun Province in northern Thailand).
The aircraft has made it to Thailand safely and welcomed by Thai Airways:

Thai Airways will operate the A350-900 in a two class configuration with:
- 32 Royal Silk Business Class in a staggered 1-2-1 formation
- 289 seats in the main cabin in the usual 3-3-3 formation by B/E Aerospace (Pinnacle)
In-Flight Entertainment is provisioned using a Panasonic EX system with Panasonic KU connectivity for in-flight WiFi services .
Thai Airways first intercontinental service will be between Bangkok and Melbourne, with service to commence during September 2016. In the meantime, they will fly to Phuket and Chiang Mai as the airline adjusts to operating its newest airline type.
