Southern Railway – a brand of Govia Thameslink Railway – is having to go through the pain of another strike between the 7th and 8th September 2016.

There are closures along the Southern network (along with the cuts made when Southern pulled 341 services a day earlier this year).
A map of the affected services can be found here
For travellers to and from Gatwick Airport there is a service impact – with a revised timetable Southern and Gatwick Express service will operate between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport / Brighton.
Thameslink services are expected to run to the normal timetable.
Southern advise that services are still expected to be very busy on these routes and you are advised to allow longer for your journey.
You are also advised to avoid peak times and to avoid planning to travel on the last trains of the day.
As for Southern Railway and Govia Thameslink Railway… customers are really getting annoyed – to the point where crowdfunding for a judicial review by the Department for Transport has been requested into the running of the franchise.
And if you’re a Southern Railway commuter… I don’t blame you in the least.
As usual, allow extra time for your trip – especially if you need to go to Gatwick.
