Norwegian Air Shuttle today celebrates Roald Dahl day the only way it can – and that’s by painting the tail of one of its planes.

Roald Dahl is an author a lot of us grew up with – from children’s stories from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Matilda, James and The Giant Peach, The Witches – through to short stories in Tales of the Unexpected and screenplays such as James Bond in “You Only Live Twice” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”
Norwegian Air Lines have painted its plane with figures on the tails of its aircraft, with 80 tail fin heroes using personalities who symbolise the spirit of Norwegian and Scandinavia by pushing boundaries, challenging the norm and inspiring others.
Roald Dahl becomes the first British figure who will grace the tail of a Norwegian Air Shuttle plane.
The new tail fin will take to the skies later this year aboard a Norwegian Boeing 737-800 plane.
And I’m sure it will suit the plane well.
Norwegian Air Shuttle operates services from London Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh. The airline also operates long haul services from its Gatwick base.
