Air India continues to expand its international network, with Madrid being the airlines next destination.

The airline will operate the route three times a week between Delhi and Madrid from 1st December 2016, operating as AI135/136.
The timetable looks like this:
AI135 DEPART DEL 14:25 ARRIVE MAD 20:20 AI136 DEPART MAD 21:50 ARRIVE DEL 11:10+1 Commences: 1st December 2016 Operates: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays Booked: Equipment: Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Data: Airlineroute
This will be Air India’s first foray into Spain, with no other airline operating directly between the two cities.
Air India will utilise Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners on this route. The airline configures them in a two-class configuration:
- 18 Business Class seats in a 2-2-2 formation
- 238 Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 formation (with a surprisingly large 33″ seat pitch).
Currently, these flights aren’t showing on the Air India site (although, the design of the site appears not to show a lot if we’re honest). A quick search on Kayak shows they exist… but vastly overpriced.
Umm. Not competitive.
Expect prices to settle as the GDS systems settle in.
