Delta adds more European Services

06/10/2016 by Kevincm

Some more announcements as Delta plans more services for 2017, with three new routes between the US and Europe.

The routes are a mixture of new routes, and routes that are returning after a period of suspension.

First up, the new route between Boston and Dublin. This will operate daily from 25th May 2017 as DL154/DL155

DL154 DEPART BOS 21:14 ARRIVE DUB 08:30+1
DL155 DEPART DUB 10:15 ARRIVE BOS 12:35

Commences 25th May 2017
Operates Daily.
Booked Equipment: Boeing 757-200

Delta will compete with Aer Lingus on this route

Next, we head to Berlin, with a service resumption by Delta between New York JFK and Berlin Tegel, with the introduction of a daily service with a Boeing 767-300ER.

DL422 DEPART JFK 19:49 ARRIVE TXL 10:30+1
DL222 DEPART TXL 13:30 ARRIVE JFK 16:19

Commences 25th May 2017
Operates Daily.
Booked Equipment: Boeing 767-300ER

Delta will go head to head with Air Berlin who operate on this route.

Finally, Lisbon rejoins the Delta network from New York JFK, with a daily service operated with a Boeing 757-200

DL473 DEPART JFK 21:43 ARRIVE LIS 10:00+1
DL273 DEPART LIS 11:35 ARRIVE JKF 14:19

Commences 25th May 2017
Operates Daily.
Booked Equipment: Boeing 767-300ER
Data: Airlineroute

Delta will compete with TAP Portugal on this route.

It’s an interesting expansion of routes, with old points being reconnected to the Delta map – as well as a new route.

It also marks a statement of intent for Delta and for anyone who is trying to encroach on its turf at Boston.

How airlines will react to this in the long term will be interesting.
