KLM has snuck out an interesting timetable change, with the airline to introduce a Boeing 787-9 between Amsterdam and Atlanta a few months early.

The service is currently operated with a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, but between 31st March through to 2nd June 2017, a KLM Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will sneak in to operate the Fridays only rotation.
This is another addition to the KLM 787 fleet, which serves across the KLM long haul network, with destinations including:
Middle East
- Abu Dhabi / Muscat
- Dubai
North America
- Calgary
- New York
- San Francisco
South America
- Rio de Janeiro
Asia
- Colombo
- Chengdu
- Hangzhou
- Kuala Lumpur
- Osaka
- Shanghai
- Xiamen
KLM currently operate their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet in a three class configuration, made up of:
- 30 World Business Class Seats in a 1-2-1 formation
- 48 Economy Comfort in a not so comfortable 3-3-3 formation
- 216 Economy Seats in a 3-3-3 formation
For those who enjoy the 787 (especially in Business Class), this could be another route to try. Those in Economy will enjoy tight seats, with 17.5″ seat widths everywhere (with some saving graces of legroom in economy comfort).
Still – it’s a preview as KLM will eventually take the Atlanta route to full 787 in the winter season. A sampler if you will….
