Air India goes neo – takes delivery of their first A320neo

17/02/2017 by Kevincm

The list of Airbus A320neo operators continues to grow, with Air India taking delivery of their first A320neo.

Air India will be obtaining 14 its A320neo aircraft via a lease agreement with ALAFCO Aviation Lease And Finance Company of Kuwait.

This A320neo is powered with CFM LEAP-1A engines – making Air India the first operator in India to use CFM engines (previous deliveries to other airlines have featured Pratt & Whitney PW1000G engines).

The A320neo will join the Air India fleet of 66 Airbus A320 Family aircraft (split between 22 Airbus A319s, 24 Airbus A320s and 20 Airbus A321s).

Whilst deliveries of new aircraft become more common, it’s always interesting to see who is taking delivery of what (and how the passenger experience will change)

So far over 70 A320neo aircraft have made into airlines hands, with 18 operators flying the newest variant of the A320 family
