Mirus have once again struck gold with Air Asia. Last year they won a contract to launch the Hawk SR seat with Air Asia.
Well it seems Mirus are two for two with introduction of the Hawk LR. The first customer for the type is …. you’ve guessed it – Air Asia X
AirAsia X will launch the seat on its Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
The Mirus Hawk LR is an update of the Hawk SR, with better cushioning than the Hawk SR. The lower seat has also been redesigned too. The Hawk LR and SR also shares components, which will reduce costs if you run both types in a fleet.
AirAsia X Ceo Benyamin Ismail states:
We think the Hawk LHR is the perfect fit to our expectations; lightweight, slim, extremely comfortable and future proofed for connectivity. I forsee these seats being a great success once approved by our board, and fitted across our A330 fleet
I’ve had a quick spin in the seats in the demo environment. These have been pitched at 33″. In terms of comfort – I felt well supported in it, with a detail to the back support – always welcome to see.
Mirus Hawk Seats in formation
In the seat. Undefined IFE system, but with contactless payment system. Expect to see a lot more of this in the future.
Legroom at 33″ – more than acceptable.
Table deployed.
USB at seat
It’s another big win for this small seat supplier, who will be shipping even more seats to the AirAsia group.
All being well – this will be the gateway to further orders, and other customers buying the seat which for a slimline long haul seat… has a lot going for it.
Thanks to Mirus for access to the stand and willingness for photos.

Not sold on the position of the USB port, anyone getting up out of the seat or sliding by while a cable is plugged in will easily bend the cable.
