The world of aircraft seating continues to evolve with Acro Aircraft Seating to supply its Acro Series 3 seats as a line-fit option
Allegiant Air will be the first operator to have their Airbus A320 line-fitted with these seats.

So the Acro Series 3 seat is a slimline economy seat, with Alleigent choosing the ‘Series 3 Superlight ST’ variant.
The seat has been so far retrofitted to over 40 Allegiant Air Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, but the move will allow the Acro seat to be fitted at the Airbus factory in Hamburg, Germany.
The current line-fit contract for new seats applies to twelve Airbus A320 aicraft – 10 to be fitted and delivered in 2017 and a further 2 to be delivered in 2018.
Acro also have contracts to fit another four sets for re-fit purposes.
Allegiant are happy, with Jude Bricker, Allegiant EVP and chief operating officer stating:
“We have been extremely happy with Acro Aircraft Seating in our fleet
For years, Acro has been a trusted and reliable partner, providing a high-quality product.”
Acro is happy with sale, stating Alan McInnes, Senior Vice President Sales of Acro stating
“We are delighted to continue our partnership with Allegiant Air. We have worked hard to grow Acro by investing in our staff, product innovation and supporting infrastructure, this is also our second linefit for a US customer. Our established offices in both Miami and Kuala Lumpur enable us to be closer to our customers, address growth demand in North America and Asia and help pursue our vision of perfect comfort for passengers.”
Acro’s Series 3 was added to the Airbus catalogue in Januay 2017 for buyer furnished equipment (BFE), allowing the seats to be plane in the factor. The Series 6 seat (which Air New Zealand will be flying a variation of) will follow with the first delivery in Q3 2017.
Having equipment listed as Buyer Furnished Equipment allows for a quicker integration into the aircraft, and aircraft entering service fast (rather than being plane being delivered, then going to a hanger for fitting of seats).
