It’s Sunday again, and it must be time for some more airplane art.
This week, parked up at Kuala Lumpur International Airport is a Batik Air Malaysia Boeing 737 MAX 8.
Batik Air Malaysia (part of the Lion Air Group) currently have this singular example (9M-LRD) in the fleet.
Lion Air itself has taken deliver three of the new generation of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft – with plans to use them on regional and medium haul routes.
So, when spotting these.. what do you have to look for? Two things give away a MAX compared to a Boeing 737 Next Generation
- The wingtips (featuring the Boeing AT Wingtip)
- The engine nacelles, which have chevrons on them, akin to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
