It appears the launch of Norwegian flights between Stockholm Arlanda and Dubai has irked Emirates into action.
And how does Emirates respond? Of course – they add more capacity.

Emirates will add three extra flights a week between Stockholm and Dubai, with the extra flights catering to weekend traffic.
The combined timetable is shown below:
Dubai to Stockholm Arlanda
EK157 DEPART DXB 08:10 ARRIVE ARN 11:55 Daily Service EK155 DEPART DXB 15:00 ARRIVE ARN 18:45 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
Stockholm Arlanda to Dubai
EK158 DEPART ARN 13:35 ARRIVE DXB 22:55 Daily Service EK156 DEPART ARN 21:10 ARRIVE DXB 06:30+1 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays EK155/EK156 operates Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only. EK157/EK158 operates daily Booked Equipment: Boeing 777-300ER (Three Class) Data: RoutesOnline
Considering the Stockholm-Dubai pair is the third busiest route out of Arlanda, and that Norwegian is trying to muscle in with a little Boeing 737-800 with a six-day a week service, there seems to be an appetite to acquire more passengers on this route.
But if you go through Arlanda… my advice is spend some time there at the airport. It’s 1) gorgeous and 2) got great departures-side views of the field before security.
And this.
