Gatwick Express launches its new timetable – changes ahead

21/05/2018 by Kevincm

Gatwick Express changed its timetable on Sunday (along with other services operated by Govia Thameslink Railway – including Thameslink, Great Northern and Southern Railway).

All Change - Gatwick Express
Timetable changes are always a challenge

If you’re travelling – head to https://www.railplan2020.com/-/media/goahead/railplan2020/may-timetables/sn-may-2018-table-186-brighton-mainline-mondays-to-fridays.pdf?la=en to get your timetable for Monday to Friday operations.

This includes all connectivity options between London Victoria, London Bridge and Gatwick.

A full list of changes are loaded at https://www.railplan2020.com/timetables and of course at the National Rail Enquires site

Weekend operations are updated 14 days in advance – use the the National Rail Enquiries journey planner, and check before you travel.

London to Gatwick has various different options in terms of rail connectivity:

  • The Gatwick Express – running non-stop between London Victoria and Gatwick Express
  • Southern “Brighton Mainline” services – a slower service (but not by a lot) that call at Clapham Junction, East Croydon, Horley and Gatwick Airport
  • Thameslink Services – connecting Brighton, Gatwick, London Bridge, Kings Cross-St Pancras and Bedford/Cambridge (Cambridge being new to the network).

All these have different fare structures – so it’s important to check before you travel. And all of these services have got timetable changes.

And if you commute in the areas with services operated by Gatwick Express, Southern, Thameslink or Great Northern… good luck with your commute.

I have a sneaking suspicion you’re going to need it as the new timetable beds in.
