Delta to roll out the Delta One Suite/Delta Premium Select on five Transpacific routes

Delta continues to push forward its new Delta One Suite and Delta Premium Select products on new routes – with five Transpacific routes lined up.

The ramp up is due to the delivery of Airbus A350 aircraft, and refitted Boeing 777-200ER/LR aircraft with the new on-board products.Let’s take a look when things start to change.

  • Minneapolis/St. Paul – Tokyo-Haneda will use a Boeing 777-200ER (Code 7HD). This change commences on the 16th November 2018 westbound, 17th November eastbound.
  • Atlanta – Tokyo-Narita will use a Boeing 777-200ER (Code 7HD). This change commences on the 1st March 2019 westbound, 2nd March 2019 Eastbound
  • Seattle – Tokyo-Narita will use an Airbus A350-900 (Code 359). This change commences on the 1st March 2019 westbound, 2nd March 2019 Eastbound
  • Los Angeles – Tokyo-Haneda will use an Airbus A350-900 (Code 359). This change commences on the 11st March 2019 westbound, 1 April  2019 Eastbound
  • Los Angeles – Sydney will use a Boeing 777-200LR (Code 7HB)

For those booking redemptions and such, the equipment codes should help you isolate if the plane you’ve booked has the Delta One Suite/Delta Premium select installed.

Even if you’re not flying in the premium cabins, Delta will operate all of these aircraft with 9-across economy class seats down the back of the plane.

Whilst that may sound tight, 9 across seating in a Boeing 777 is becoming a rarity in long haul (and 9 across in an Airbus A350 is standard).

This means at least 18″ seat widths – which for the missions Delta will be using these types for will mean comfort for those in the back of the plane.

Of course, if you’re in Delta One or Delta Premium Select, you’ll be happy with the extra space you paid for.

The updated premium products are currently operating out of

  • Detroit Tokyo-Narita, Seoul-Incheon, Shanghai, Beijing and Amsterdam
  • Los Angeles: Shanghai
  • Atlanta: Seoul-Incheon

With the improved passenger experience in all classes of the plane, it should make a competitive product on these long haul routes.
