With Montreal announced as the first Aer Lingus A321LR destination, there’s a bit of news from APEX Expo today in regards to the plane and on-board features.
First up is passenger amenities and there’s good news in economy class – where passengers get free Wi-FI. All 20mb of it.

Which… let’s be honest – if you have a modern smartphone, that’ll be a few instagram posts, a few tweets, a mail pulldown and that’s your lot (and if you’ve got updates in the background – good luck with that. This goes live Q1 in 2019.
Plans announced by Stephen Kavanagh also include:
- Complimentary alcohol with meals (bringing into line with other IAG airlines)
- A brand refresh.
And one more thing – a new livery.
We all know the Green and white of Aer Lingus very well, which has remained pretty static over the years – indeed, the cabin crew uniform has been the same for 25 years or so.

It was announced that the shamrock will remain, as would some of the green.
The rest of the design has yet to be disclosed.
With such an iconic brand, there will be people watching to see how Aer Lingus decides to proceed. Whilst the airline is focusing on its Net Promoter Scores to improve service and experiance – there is a lot of consider for the airline in the future.
Even if it’s 20mb free at a time.
