In news at APEX Expo, American Airlines plan to switch from Bose to Bang and Olfson headphones.
In a media session post announcement, Doug Parker – CEO of American Airlines expanded on the details of the product change.
It appears that Bose has been in the business for some time for the visibility purpose. This in turn has led to very low yields it seems – especially for the aviation model headphones that require a 3-pin connector (stereo and power).
The last orders were placed last year by Bose, with airlines have to make do and mend with the current headsets. For those who have them, this can only last so long. Therefore, American Airlines will be rolling out Bang & Olufsen headphones from 1st Half of 2019.
Bose has been a central part of the AA product for some years – so seeing this sea change – and there will be time to adapt – even if it’s headphones…
