British Airway will be receiving its first Boeing 787-10 soon – and the first route it’s going to serve is Atlanta.
The aircraft will serve the Atlanta route from February 2020 onwards.

The Boeing 787-10 is the double stretch version of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Meanwhile, the airline currently operates 12 787-8 and 16 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in its long haul fleet.
British Airways will configure the aircraft in a four-class configuration. It will feature eight seats in First Class. 48 seats in Club Suites (the new business class cabin), 35 seats in World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and 165 seats in World Traveller (economy). An initial seat map has been released too.

Alex Cruz, British Airways Chairman and CEO, said:
“The delivery of our first 787-10 aircraft marks another significant milestone in our £6.5bn customer investment plan. The aircraft delivers a 25 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the aircraft it replaces, another step towards our commitment to net zero carbon emissions by 2050. It will also offer greater comfort for our customers, as it features our latest generation seats in all cabins.”
Club Suite to the test
The updated First Class seat – challenged by the Club Suite challenger?
With 12 new Boeing 787-10 aircraft joining the British Airways fleet, the true test of Club Suite is coming.
Currently, the seat is loaded on the Airbus A350 and a few of the Boeing 777 fleet. As British Airways bets big on this seat, it’s going to find out if they can live without the density of the older business class seat.
This will also be the second aircraft where the older open First Suite and Club Suite have been on the same plane at the same time – which will pose questions. Both offer 1-2-1 seating, with the Club Suite offering a codes door experience, whilst the First Suite opens an open cabin experience.
With a rollout into 2025 for the seat and more aircraft coming on stream with the new products over the year – it’ll be interesting to see if First class passengers switch to Club…
