The fare will be available in Business and Comfort class tickets starting from 4 March 2020. The main feature of the new Base fare is that is non-refundable. It will be offered on the Aeroflot network, as well as its subsidiaries Rossiya and Aurora.
Let’s have a look at the differences
- In Business Class, with a Base ticket – everything is the same, including seat pre-selection and access to airport lounges in Russia and abroad. The fare also includes free carry-on and one checked bag up to 32kg. Again, the ticket is not refundable.
- Comfort Class (or Economy Class) passengers will be able to preselect seats and bring free carry on and one checked bag up to 23kg. Again, the ticket is not refundable As well as the included allowances, passengers can purchase additional luggage through various Aeroflot methods (using Aeroflot’s website, mobile app, as well as offices and agents). The discount is also offered on the day of the flight when buying online – but NOT at Check-in. Aeroflot Bonus Platinum, Gold and Silver members, as well as Elite and Elite Plus members of other SkyTeam airlines loyalty programmes, will still be able to check additional baggage in line with their status.

All about that base, ‘bout that base (no treble)
Creating another fare class is always a good tactic for an airline to create a different product, with more restrictive rules, enticing customers who want the flexibility to pay more and allowing fares to be low enough to entice value-based customers.
As always, check before you book the terms and conditions of your fare – especially if you’re needing flexibility in your travels
