We’re in the age of social distancing – if we like it or not. Both Lufthansa and Eurowings are introducing further measures to ensure the physical distance is kept between passengers during their journey.

For all flights within Germany and from Germany, neighbouring seats will be blocked in both Economy Class and Premium Economy.

The new seating regulation, however, will NOT apply of flights returning to Germany. Both Lufthansa and Eurowings wish to repatriate as many passengers as possible.
So good luck being socially distant on return flights.
To aid their arrival at Frankfurt, all Lufthansa and Eurowings will be handled at docks at building positions (such as terminals) as opposed to hardstands away from the terminal. This will avoid the crush of the shuttle bus across the tarmac to the terminal.
The airline notes that at very short notice if bussing is required, twice as many busses will be sent to allow some spacing aboard the bus.
Both measures will apply until 19 April 2020.
