In the past, we’ve all been used to amenity kits in one form or another. Delta Air Lines is taking a modern-day spin on it as it adapts to “the new normal”
The new customer care kit – Image, Delta.
As passengers get used to the new norms of travelling, some it seems are forgetting essentials – like masks. Thankfully, Delta has your back as they will offer a complimentary care kit to comply with our mask requirement and enjoy an extra layer of protection throughout their travel.
The kits will include:
- A disposable face mask;
- Purell hand sanitizer gel pouches;
- An information card detailing measures in place that are helping Delta transform the industry standard of clean
The move follows Delta’s requirement for passengers to wear face coverings during travel. The new kits form a new test package to improve customer confidence in the air. They’ve been developed after customer feedback indicating that receiving a care kit weighed heavily on their decision to travel.
The new kits will be available on request at ticket counters and gates by 5th June.

Bill Lentsch, Chief Customer Experience Officer of Delta said:
”Our survey data showed a clear desire for these kits and we have a bias toward action when we see new trends emerge.”
“As more people begin to consider traveling in the months ahead, ensuring their safety at all steps of their journey remains our top priority.”

Is the kit free or added to the already expensive flight
Kevincm says
They’ll be offered free of charge to customers flying Delta. Should be network-wise by 8th June

how does one eat and drink? or are meals off the plate (sorry … bad pun)?
AC says
No meals and limited drink service right now (at least domestically) but all allow you to remove mask to eat or drink as reasonably required
Sherry says
Great news ! Now I would hope the number of people on a flight has been reduced for social distancing?
Paul says
As a Delta Diamond level flyer…..I will go out of my way not to fly, and drive when ever I can as long as the ridiculous mask policy is in place.
Marilyn says
Good! We don’t need people like you on planes. Go ahead and consider only yourself, not those who might be at more risk of serious complications if they contract covid.
Bill says
The original poster does what you want them to do, and you insult them for it?
You should be thanking them instead.
EGM says
“Ridiculous”? You realize, I hope, that if you are infected you carry the virus, and can infect others, for 4-10 days before you show any symptoms – and some people never show any. A mask protects those on the plane near you. That includes those behind you who breathe your used air.
I’m sorry, but I don’t want to die just because you and I happen to be on the same p[ane. Your attitude that your mask-free comfort is more important than my survival is entitlement of the first order. As a lifetime DL million-miler, this will encourage me to fly with them rather than another airline when I resume travel.
Enjoy your drive.

Oh, awesome. More plastic. Just what the world needs.
Valeri says
The people who actually care about others as well as themselves Thank you Delta. Tough times right now. These small measures let your clients know that you are thinking of them.
Cherie says
Should there be any debate when lives are at risk and air travel maybe the only option for some. When the well-being of some individuals health and lives in question shouldn’t our moral fabric know the right response. Come on people right is right. Thank you Delta for making the effort these are difficult times indeed.
Bill says
Nobody has said not to wear a mask. What are you complaining about exactly?
Cherie says
I am confused that you would think I am complaining I was merely stating that my opinion at this time is that it’s difficult out there and I too see a lot of comments about flight prices, free masks, the individual who thought wearing a mask is ridiculous and will drive rather than fly and the verbal insults being tossed around I’m just saying let’s keep it civil.
Dawn says
That’s a great idea!

Great news and typical of Delta’s step above performance…my favorite and most trusted airline-=-period!
Cmorgan says
You people make me laugh! Nofood no drinks, reduced service due to safety concerns. Really? Anyone with half a brain cell knows the airlines are using COVID to cut services to save money and don’t give a rats ass about their customers !! Yet the prices stay mostly the same. I am a 2 million + miler. Very disappointed to see the comments here from so called educated people.
Linda Krause says
You obviously didn’t read what people said…it’s not ALL About You!! Others want to be as sure as they can that they will be protected from people who either knowingly, (there’s been a few on planes) or unknowingly are infectious. I’m glad that people with your attitude don’t want to get on planes!! You & the first guy can keep on driving & I will be happy! I’m also a Million Miler & appreciate Delta!
Craig A Kasparek says
I think you’re over reacting a bit…just take a look around you…no self service food or fountain items in grocery stores unless they’re sealed. True, their maybe some minor cost savings, but the airline employees–pilots and flight attendants are there for your safety–and theirs as well. I would imagine any cost savings on food/beverages are MORE than negated by the 50-60% maximum passenger load maximum as well as middle-seat vacancies, etc.! Also, remember that this is not a permanent solution–and the airlines would love to have their load factors back to pre-19 virus levels. Patience is a virtue…as well is cautious respect for your fellow passengers. In the meantime, I doubt you’ll starve for the flight duration… As a 2K or above customer, I’m shocked at YOUR commentary. Get a grip, take the bus, train, or your own car instead for the time being.
I Love Dan says
As someone who still needs to fly for work, I have flown DL, AA, and UA several times all in the past month. DL is by far taking this more seriously than any other carrier. The planes are spotless! They hand out Purell wipes to every passenger and strictly enforce blocking out seats including only 50% capacity up front. UA and AA are filthy packed sardine cans like it is business as usual.
Bill says
Bravo to Delta. Still a cut above. They should try to extend the lead.
