The world may be in bits and things may seem a bit bleak. Whilst I can’t promise rainbows and sunshine, I can promise you some headlines… as well as a borked phone.
Welcome to Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.
This week has been… less than ideal in many respects. From protests around the world to an airline preparing to fire and hire its staff on a lower rate, to the OLED Display going bang on me on my phone… it seems the world is more than a little crazy right now.
The world will fly again
Airlines are responding to countries changing their entry regulations and building out their networks once again.
- Emirates prepares for more transit flights to fly
- Virgin Atlantic prepares to take to the air again
- American Airlines to resume European routes, increase Domestic routes and open Admirals Lounges
- Lufthansa plans to reinstate a majority of its timetable by September
Passenger Experience
- Etihad launches “Etihad Wellness” – A series of onboard initiatives to promote wellness in the air
- Safran Seating introduces new seating protection options –
New Aircraft News
- First Airbus A220 assembled at Mobile AL conducts its maiden flight – Airbus Mobile continues to pick up the speed with the A220 programme.
Not Covered
- I’m not covering the BA Labour disputes, with the airline seemingly wanting to destroy any trust it has with its workers, whilst it feasts on bailouts and moans about quarantine regulations that are due to come in
Pretty pictures
Next Week
With the UK inbound quarantine going into effect, there are going to be more than a little impact on passenger traffic, as the rest of the world continues to open up. I’ll be continuing to monitor as I dream of faraway places.
Until then – stay safe.
